More About Programs Offered by or at Spring Brook Farms
Horsemanship FUNRelationship building is key to having a happy and safe farm therefore Natural Horsemanship is a big part of horse training at Spring Brook Farms, as well as developing a person's horsemanship skills to help grow confidence, improve communication, and build relationship skills. Many of the foundational and present masters have been studied; including Pat Parelli, John Lyons, Clinton Anderson, Ray Hunt, Mark Rashid, Buck Brannaman and Tom Dorrance.
Camels respond to the techniques too! |
Equine/Animal Assisted ActivitiesDogs and mini horses are available to visit libraries, schools, day centers, shelters, farmer's markets, preschools, nursing homes etc. for motivation, education or recreation to enhance the life of those being visited by animals. We have been enhancing the lives of many students and adults since 2005 by taking trained dachshunds to work at local middle schools while I was employed as a School Counselor and for visits to a day center, alzheimer unit, and a shelter for abuse victims.

Equine Assisted LearningEAL activites can be tailored to enrich learning or leadership growth as well as engage high risk students needing intense interventions. Learning activities can be academic based or focused on character traits. EAL utilizes non-riding activities and is offered in a group or individual setting. Typically, a trained facilitator guides the learning process while clients participate in the activity with the horses. EAL is not therapy or horsemanship, as it doesn't focus on personal issues or horse skills, instead the focus is on concepts and principles, as in character concepts for example; respect, kindness, teamwork, responsibility, leadership, etc
